About the Role
Plans, delivers, and evaluates instruction based on specific standards and objectives established by CCPS. Assists students in studying technological resources through problem-solving processes and hands-on activities, helping them develop knowledge and skills that contribute to their growth as mature, able, and responsible citizens.
Responsibilities
- Plans and delivers appropriate curriculum content to students.
- Provides students the opportunity to participate in the Technology Student Organization.
- Plans, teaches, and assesses student learning on an ongoing basis, altering instruction to meet group or individual needs.
- Uses the district’s curriculum to plan daily instructional activities.
- Maintains classroom order in accordance with division guidelines on student behavior management.
- Supervises students during non-classroom time (before school, after school, student activities, and fire drills).
- Collaborates with other faculty in planning and delivering instruction.
- Communicates regularly with parents.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local policies, regulations, and guidelines related to public schools.
- Demonstrates commitment to improving professional competence.
- Operates computers, LCD projectors, course-related equipment, and copy machines.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Working knowledge of instructional concepts, principles, and methodologies.
- Working knowledge of academic curriculum for assigned classes.
- Demonstrated ability to develop instructional goals, design and deliver instruction, and assess student learning.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Demonstrated ability in decision-making, problem analysis, conflict resolution, interpersonal relationships, and planning.
- Must hold or be eligible for a Virginia Teaching License with an endorsement in Technology Education and be well-versed in STEM education.
- Must successfully complete the following background investigations/tests:
- Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Criminal History Investigation
- State Police Criminal History Investigation
- Child Protective Services (CPS) Investigation
- Tuberculosis Screening/Test
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to use hands to lift, support, handle, or feel objects, tools, equipment, and/or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear.
- Required to stand, walk, and/or sit.
- Occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, or kneel.
- Specific vision abilities required include close and distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
Work is performed in a public school with a moderate noise level.
Pay
$57,226.69 - $87,774.05 per year.
Schedule
8 hours per day, 200 days per year.
