About the role

Responsibilities
- Plan and prepare lessons based on content knowledge and educational standards.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Vary instructional methods to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Maintain accurate records and report grades as required.

Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited college or university.
- Hold a valid Pennsylvania certification for Middle Level Mathematics 6-9 or Mathematics 7-12.
- Proven knowledge in the assigned subject area.
- A positive attitude towards teaching and service to the district.
- Proficiency in using current technology for instruction.
- Able to adjust work schedule to accommodate student and parent needs.
- Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- Ability to handle stressful situations and provide sound judgment.

Pay
Salary placement is dependent on education and years of teaching service. Refer to Appendix B of the DAEA Agreement for the 2026-2027 Salary Schedule.
Schedule
7.5 hours per day based on the district-approved calendar, up to 191 days per year, plus up to 3 days of orientation for professional employees during the first year of employment.
