About the role

Teaches specific grade level subject matter to diverse high school student population following District standards-based curriculum. Helps all students develop competence and confidence simultaneously through a balance of acquiring basic skills and developing conceptual understanding.

Responsibilities

  • Counsels students to encourage and support student achievement.
  • Makes sure students follow school and District rules and policies.
  • Monitors and evaluates student performance, behavior, social development, and physical health.
  • Prepares lesson plans and materials according to District approved curriculum guidelines.
  • Adapts teaching methods and instructional materials to meet varying needs and learning styles.
  • Instructs students individually and in groups using various teaching methods (e.g., lectures, technology, discussions).
  • Establishes and communicates clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects.
  • Prepares, administers, assigns, and grades tests and assignments to evaluate student progress, reporting grades using District software.
  • Communicates with parents or guardians, teachers, counselors, and administrators to resolve student behavior and academic problems.
  • May participate in extra-duty activities such as coaching, tutoring, or summer programs, as outlined in the Teachers’ Collective Bargaining Agreement and in accordance with Department of Labor regulations.

Requirements

  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field required.
  • A Master's Degree is only required for Concurrent Enrollment positions.
  • Have a valid Colorado Department of Education (CDE) teaching license.

  • Live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado while working with us.

Click here for the DCTA Teacher and SSP Hourly Schedule. Click here for more information on compensation for these roles. The salary listed reflects the 2025–2026 school year. Salaries for the 2026–2027 school year are typically finalized and released mid-summer, with an effective date of August 1. If any updates or adjustments are made once the new salary schedule is finalized, all impacted individuals will receive the updated salary.
