Overview

Integration Charter Schools is dedicated to providing innovative pathways to college that fully integrate students with special needs. Our network of four schools on Staten Island, New York, adheres to guiding principles of teamwork, courage, community, and integrity. Our Personalized Learning approach centers on universal design and equity, aiming to remove systemic barriers and amplify student voice.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe and organized classroom to maximize student learning
  • Co-plan and implement ICS curriculum to ensure all students meet academic benchmarks
  • Support lead teacher with regular meetings and outreach to families, including daily documentation and notes, classroom celebrations, and family informational sessions
  • Implement school-wide positive behavior incentive policies and logical consequences
  • Work collaboratively with the school leadership team, colleagues, and the ICS Office of Teaching and Learning to enrich the learning experience for our students
  • Engage in coaching and implement research-based strategies that maximize their own performance and that of their students
  • Reflect on their own progress as educators and seek out professional resources to continuously improve their practice
  • Communicate with families on student progress as needed
  • Avoid inaccuracies in ICS data sources; maintain records in PowerSchool, DNA, New Visions Portal, NWEA, etc.
  • Serve as the primary teacher when the classroom teacher is absent
  • Participate in school and network-led meetings and professional development workshops as laid out in the school and professional development calendars
  • Support the school as directed by the Principal, Assistant Principal, and Deans

Salary/Hours

The starting salary for a Teacher Resident is $52,000. ICS is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
