2026-2027 Resident Teacher

Major Responsibilities

• Co-Teaching: Residents will work with students in a host teacher's classroom. Responsibilities increase over the school year and include facilitation of small group instruction and tier II intervention, co-facilitating the classroom management system, co-facilitating procedural routines & transition activities.
• Small Group Instruction: Residents participate in a small group differentiated instruction experience, assessing and analyzing student data, planning and teaching data-driven lessons, selecting a small, inclusive group of students, and delivering targeted tier intervention supports.
• Substitute Teaching: Residents may substitute teach in or out of the host teacher's classroom.
• Formative Assessments & Diagnosing Student Needs: Residents interpret and report assessment results to support appropriate instruction, develop IEPs, and formally report and discuss assessment results with key stakeholders.
• Classroom Management: Residents implement classroom management strategies, build positive relationships, and enforce classroom routines and procedures.

Work Environment

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Travel throughout the district is integral to this job. Regular and punctual attendance at the worksite is required for this position.

Salary is based on the terms and conditions of the contract. Minimum salary is $30,000.00.
