TEACHER ON SPECIAL ASSIGNMENT - MATH INSTRUCTIONAL COACH

Essential Duties
- Work with teachers on the improvement of instruction in activities such as co-teaching, co-planning, conferencing, presenting professional development to staff, providing feedback to staff, supporting research-based mathematics pedagogy in classrooms, etc.
- Aid teachers with student diagnostic tests
- Conduct diagnostic interviews with selected students and assist teachers with student diagnostic tests
- Collect student assessment data and use this data in helping the staff set goals, plan strategies, and implement action steps to address areas of need
- Document work performed and meetings/conferences attended
- Attend all professional development meetings and conferences delivered by district personnel or the technical assistance team
Required Minimum Qualifications
- Valid Ohio Elementary Teaching certification/license
- Evidence of exemplary mathematics instruction
- Minimum of three years of successful elementary teaching experience in an urban school district
- Proven success in effectively teaching mathematics to urban children
Special Training
- Regular training sessions will be held which bring together all coaches
Flexible Hours
- You may need to meet with teachers before or after school as part of the position
