Position: Teacher on Special Assignment - Content Area K-12 Music Work Schedule: .20 FTE, part-time Start Date: ASAP Pay: Steps and lanes are in accordance with the teacher labor agreement Benefits: Medical, dental, life insurance and other benefits as outlined in the teacher benefit summary TOSA positions are not permanent positions and teachers hired into this role will be required to return to the classroom at the end of the special assignment. Qualifications Degree in MusicK-12 Instrumental, Vocal or Classroom Music education licenseAt least 5 years experience in providing of effective instruction Preferred Excellent skills in collaboration and working in partnership with teachers and administratorsA mastery level of understanding of the State Standards for K-12 MusicAble to manage schedules, event planning, and resourcesExperience maintaining, tracking, and managing instrument inventoriesOutstanding written and verbal communication skills across stakeholder groupsHas been in MVPS for at least 3 years as a music teacher Responsibilities Develop master, district-wide calendar for performance schedules and facility usage for music programs across the districtAssist with organizing district-wide music events, including working with Community Education for performance facilities and schedulesWork with teachers to create and maintain an accurate, up-to-date inventory of district-owned musical instrumentsAct as a liaison between music teacher PLC leads and school/district administration to ensure alignment in messagingServe as a resource to district and building administration when developing music staffing assignments to support workable and sustainable staffing across buildings and programs
