About the role

This position is applicable for the 2026-2027 school year. Applicant must have valid and appropriate Missouri certification.

Responsibilities

- Provide specialized instruction to students who are visually impaired or have other disabilities. - Collaborate with classroom teachers and other special education professionals to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs). - Assist students in accessing the general curriculum through the use of assistive technology and other accommodations. - Conduct assessments and evaluations to determine the educational needs of visually impaired students. - Maintain accurate records and documentation related to student progress and IEPs.

Requirements

Applicant must have valid and appropriate Missouri certification.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in special education or related field. - Valid Missouri teaching certificate in special education. - Experience working with visually impaired students. - Knowledge of assistive technology and instructional strategies for students with visual impairments.

Skills

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills. - Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team. - Proficiency in using assistive technology and software for visually impaired students.
