About the Role
Supplemental Health Care is seeking a School Services School Visual Impairments Teacher for a local contract job in St Charles, Missouri. We’re currently seeking a Teacher for the Visually Impaired to make a real impact in the lives of students.
Responsibilities
- Assess students and provide therapeutic interventions to maximize their ability to benefit from educational programs and opportunities.
- Review and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions, modifying them and ISP/IEP as needed.
- Maintain appropriate documentation, including written reports with detailed information to guide educational plans.
- Confer and collaborate with the interdisciplinary education team, parents, and community agencies; assist with the coordination and provision of services.
- Maintain and share a working knowledge of current laws, regulations, and strategies in special education.
Qualifications
- Teaching Certification with State-appropriate Teacher of the Visually Impaired Special Education Endorsement.
- Knowledge of Braille, vision assessment instruments and procedures, and low vision aids.
- Prefer 1 year of experience in a school setting.
Contract Details
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Hours: 36 hours per week
- Shift: 3 hours, days
- Pay: $45.25 - $48.75 per hour
- Caseload: Early Childhood through High School options
- Part-time and full-time options available
- Travel between school locations may be required
