About the role
The Victory Academy are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Sociology Teacher to join their team. The successful candidate will be accountable for delivering high-quality teaching to ensure that every student progresses, and utilise effective resources to provide the highest standards of learning and achievement for all pupils.
Responsibilities
- Plan, implement, and deliver an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant, and differentiated curriculum for KS4 & KS5 students
- Monitor and support the overall progress and development of students
- Facilitate and encourage a learning experience that provides students with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential
- Contribute to raising standards of student progress and attainment
- Integrate the Thinking Schools ethos into all aspects of school life to develop students as thinkers, enabling them to achieve success and be their best selves
Requirements
- Experience in teaching Sociology at KS4 & KS5 level
- Proven ability to motivate and engage students
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and support staff
- Knowledge of the Thinking Schools ethos
Qualifications
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Bachelor's degree in Sociology or related field
Skills
- Excellent subject knowledge and understanding of Sociology
- Strong organisational and planning skills
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of diverse learners
- Effective assessment and feedback strategies
