Teacher of Sociology

About the role

The Victory Academy are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Sociology Teacher to join their team. The successful candidate will be accountable for delivering high-quality teaching to ensure that every student progresses, and utilise effective resources to provide the highest standards of learning and achievement for all pupils.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and deliver an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant, and differentiated curriculum for KS4 & KS5 students
• Monitor and support the overall progress and development of students
• Facilitate and encourage a learning experience that provides students with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential
• Contribute to raising standards of student progress and attainment
• Integrate the Thinking Schools ethos into all aspects of school life to develop students as thinkers, enabling them to achieve success and be their best selves

Requirements

• Experience in teaching Sociology at KS4 & KS5 level
• Proven ability to motivate and engage students
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and support staff
• Knowledge of the Thinking Schools ethos

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Bachelor's degree in Sociology or related field

Skills

• Excellent subject knowledge and understanding of Sociology
• Strong organisational and planning skills
• Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of diverse learners
• Effective assessment and feedback strategies
