About the role
As Head of Science at Co‑op Academy Grange you will inspire and lead the science department, drive improvements, foster collaboration and elevate student outcomes. You will work within a supportive leadership team to innovate, raise achievement and ensure every student has the opportunity to reach their full potential, regardless of background. The role also involves modelling the academy’s vision, values and exceptional professional behaviours, supporting a rewards‑based approach to behaviour, and working closely with the pastoral team to guide students through their secondary school journey.
Responsibilities
- Drive improvements in the science department.
- Foster collaboration among teaching staff.
- Elevate student achievement across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
- Model the academy’s vision, values and exceptional professional behaviours.
- Promote a rewards‑based behaviour culture and celebrate student success.
- Work with the pastoral team to support students’ wellbeing and progression.

Pay
Salary range: £32,916.00 – £51,048.00 per annum. Pay grades: MPS £32,916 – £45,352; UPS £47,472 – £51,048.
Schedule
Full‑time permanent position: 32.5 hours per week, 52.143 weeks per year. Contract term: TTO – Term time only.
