Responsibilities

• Teach district-approved curriculum and Arizona State standards
• Instruct students in citizenship and basic subject matter specified in state law and administrative regulations
• Create and lead engaging learning activities
• Utilize assessments to monitor student progress
• Communicate regularly with parents through newsletters, notes, phone calls, and conferences
• Establish and maintain standards of student behavior to achieve an effective learning atmosphere
• Evaluate students' academic and social growth, keep appropriate records, and prepare progress reports
• Be available for education-related purposes outside the instructional day
• Plan and coordinate the work of teacher aides, parents, and volunteers
• Create an environment for learning through displays, interest centers, and exhibits of student work
• Incorporate technology into lesson plans
• Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Requirements

• Obtain and maintain an appropriate Arizona Department of Education Teaching Certification for the position hired
• Obtain and maintain an Arizona Department of Public Safety Identify Verified Fingerprint Clearance Card
• Demonstrate knowledge of state and national standards, district curriculum, and instructional materials and assessments
• Demonstrate knowledge of interpreting data and assessments to make instructional decisions
• Support school and district mission and vision
• Utilize effective verbal and written communication skills
• Show flexibility, dependability, organization, and collaboration
• Establish rapport with peers and parents
• Willingness to participate in district training for coaching
• Demonstrate lifelong learning
