About the Role
The Math Teacher is responsible for coaching, motivating, and instructing high school students within the company model, with attention to each student’s Individual Graduation Plan (IGP). All for-credit courses align to state standards and are delivered to engage student learning and accelerate credit accumulation through a mastery-based educational model. The teacher acts as a coach and mentor, ensuring student success.
Responsibilities
- Provide a student-centered learning environment with high accountability, aligned with the school’s academic goals and objectives.
- Deliver instruction, direction, and leadership in the classroom, demonstrating subject-matter expertise and best teaching practices.
- Support initiatives to meet defined FTE enrollment and attendance goals.
- Maintain progress monitoring reports, attendance, behavioral records, academic grades, and other student records as required by state guidelines and company policy.
- Collaborate with peers to develop and implement best educational practices tailored to students' academic needs and aligned with company goals.
- Participate in professional development to maintain appropriate certification or credentials.
- Facilitate Math Interventions as necessary.
- Perform additional duties aligned with company policy to ensure student educational and behavioral goals are achieved.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field from an accredited college or university.
- Appropriate Teacher’s certification in Math 6-12.
- Knowledge of secondary education principles, curriculum, and instructional theory.
- Ability to analyze and use data to drive program improvement.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Experience or ability to work with over-age and at-risk youth is preferred.
