Teacher- Math
About the role
High Point School is seeking a Special Education Math Teacher who holds a Math Certification and TOSD, or a Special Education Teacher with TOH, experienced in algebra and committed to enriching students of various ages and academic levels.
Responsibilities
- Provide specialized learning experiences and supervision of special education students in a supportive and positive classroom environment in accordance with their Individualized Education Plans (IEP).
- Ensure the overall welfare of each individual student during the school day.
- Design, implement, and evaluate an educational program appropriate to each student's individual needs.
- Schedule and provide instruction for teaching assistants.
- Maintain regular communication with families and/or guardians, the Principal, clinical staff, and other staff to ensure goals and objectives of all IEP plans are being met.
Requirements
- Must hold a High School Math Certification and TOSD, or a Special Education Teacher with a TOH.
- Experience teaching math to high school students.
- At least 2 years of teaching experience, with a preference for experience in art.

About High Point Schools
High Point School is a State of New Jersey approved, private school for students with disabilities. Students range in age from 5 to 21, attending grades K-12 from school districts throughout New Jersey. We offer a comprehensive academic curriculum with evidence-based positive behavior supports and a wide array of therapeutic services to promote a positive and effective learning environment. Our team includes psychiatrists, nurses, teachers and teaching assistants, licensed clinical social workers, and crisis intervention specialists. The staff-to-student ratio is one teaching staff to three students, with class sizes limited to 12.
Pay
$60,000 to $90,000 annually based on experience and subject.
