TEACHER, LONG TERM SUBSTITUTE, SPECIAL EDUCATION - K-5TH GRADE
About the role
This position will require a Special Education Endorsement. A Long-Term Substitute is responsible for teaching appropriate grade level standard-based curriculum to students, following school/district approved curriculum while the classroom teacher is absent for an extended period of time.
Responsibilities
- Counsels students to encourage and support student achievement.
- Makes sure students follow the rules and behave appropriately.
- Monitors and records students' progress, behavior, social development, and physical health.
- Plans lessons and activities according to curriculum guidelines or state/local requirements.
- Teaches individual and group lessons using various methods and technology.
- Assigns and grades tests and assignments to evaluate student progress.
- Communicates with parents, teachers, counselors, and administrators about students' issues.
Requirements
- Hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field.
- Have a valid Colorado Department of Education (CDE) teaching license.
- Live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado while working with us.
- Have the ability with or without accommodations to meet the physical demands of the position.
