TEACHER, LONG TERM SUBSTITUTE -INTERVENTION - GIFTED & TALENTED, TEMPORARY

About the role

A Long-Term Substitute is responsible for teaching appropriate grade level standard-based curriculum to students, following school/district approved curriculum while the classroom teacher is absent for an extended period of time.

Responsibilities

• Counsels students to encourage and support student achievement.
• Makes sure students follow the rules and behave appropriately.
• Monitors and evaluates students' performance, behavior, social development, and physical health.
• Plans and prepares educational course outlines, objectives, and materials according to curriculum guidelines or state and local requirements.
• Teaches subjects to students, using various teaching methods and technology, adjusting teaching style and method to meet student learning styles.
• Assigns, administers, and grades tests and assignments to evaluate student progress, reporting grades using District software.
• Communicates with parents or guardians, teachers, counselors, and administrators to resolve students' behavioral and academic problems and coordinates instructional efforts.

Requirements

• Hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field.
• Have a valid Colorado Department of Education (CDE) teaching license.
