Position Overview

To work as part of a classroom leading team to provide a warm and nurturing environment in which children can develop physically, emotionally, socially, and intellectually.

Duties

• Provide the children with a safe loving and nurturing environment.
• Meet the children’s needs in areas of physical, emotional, social, and intellectual development.
• Prepare with the director an appropriate classroom curriculum and weekly plans sheets to carry out the established goals.
• Keep attendance records for the classroom.
• Carry out appropriate and positive discipline.
• Help build and function as part of a supportive team.
• Maintain a room arrangement that is safe, inviting, interesting and stimulating.

Qualifications

• Certified TECE I and TECE II required.
• Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education a plus.
• 2 years of experience preferred.
• Must be able to obtain clearances required by the Joseph R. Biden III and the Child Protection Act.
• Must have an understanding of and appreciation for the Mission of The Salvation Army.
