Qualifications
- Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
- Must have a cheerful and courteous personality
- Must be able to consistently maintain professional demeanor, relating to children, parents and other staff
- Must exhibit sensitivity to individual interests, feelings and needs of all children
- Must be able to maintain tact under stress and accept change
- Sworn Statement or Affirmation for Child Care Program required
- Additional Child Abuse Registry background check required for individuals residing outside State of Virginia in the past five years based on previous state of residency
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required
- More education in the early childhood field is preferred
Experience
- One to six months related experience or training required
Responsibilities
- Supervise assistant teachers
- Communicate orally and in writing with the parents and children
- Perform all duties outlined in the job description
- Meet or exceed the minimum standards required in the licensing regulations set forth for licensed child care centers
Pay
$17.51 - $21.02
