Afterschool Counselor / Gym Coach role at Carolina Kids Child Development Center in Fort Mill, SC. Immediate openings for part-time or full-time schedules during preschool operating hours.

About the role

Join our preschool team as an Afterschool Counselor, playing a vital role in our school-age program. You’ll design and lead engaging physical activities that foster a love for movement, exercise, and teamwork in young children.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead structured activities such as games, exercises, and obstacle courses to stimulate gross motor skills development.
• Foster a safe and encouraging environment that encourages children to explore different movements and activities.
• Customize activities to meet the diverse needs and abilities of individual children, ensuring inclusivity and accessibility for all.
• Instill values of teamwork, cooperation, and sportsmanship through interactive group activities and games.
• Maintain open communication with parents and caregivers, sharing updates on children’s day.
• Ensure the gym space is clean, organized, and equipment is well-maintained and safely stored.

Requirements

• High school diploma or Bachelor’s degree in physical education, early childhood education, or a related field (preferred).
• Proven experience working with young children, particularly in a preschool or daycare environment.
• Solid understanding of child development principles and proficiency in designing age-appropriate physical activities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate young children effectively.
• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and adapt to the dynamic nature of a preschool environment.

Pay

Hourly pay rate: $13.50 – $16.50, based on qualifications and experience.
