About the role
The ESL Educator will help close the achievement gap by providing standards-based, rigorous instruction to English Language Learners (ELLs) through individual, small-group, and whole-class instruction. This position ensures students receive appropriate support and accommodations while actively collaborating with Grade Level Teams, ESL and Special Education staff, and the School Leadership Team.
Responsibilities
- Teach, reinforce, and remediate academic content to ensure student mastery
- Provide instruction to individuals, small groups, and whole classes of ELL students
- Evaluate student progress and prepare measurable goals and objectives
- Modify instruction and classroom environments to meet the needs of ELL students
- Design and implement curriculum aligned to MA frameworks and WIDA standards
- Develop assessments to measure progress toward academic standards
- Use assessment data to inform instruction and refine curriculum
- Communicate consistently and professionally with students, families, and staff
- Provide appropriate accommodations and supports for all students
- Participate in curriculum design, professional development, and school-wide events
- Manage classroom behavior and create a positive, engaging learning environment
- Ensure compliance with school, district, and state policies and regulations
- Complete additional duties as assigned by school leadership

Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred
- Valid Massachusetts Teaching License in ESL (preferred)
- Deep understanding of RETELL obligations and SEI requirements
- Authorization to work in the United States
- Experience with standards-based instruction and assessments
- Knowledge of MA Frameworks and WIDA standards
Pay
$61,788 – $94,614
