Teacher, Elementary Physical Education / EOY (26-27)

About the role

Whitewater Academy is seeking an energetic and enthusiastic Teacher to join our Elementary Physical Education team. The ideal candidate will inspire students to develop physical literacy through engaging and developmentally appropriate activities.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement age-appropriate physical education lessons that promote physical fitness, sportsmanship, and healthy habits.
• Assess student progress and adjust lesson plans accordingly to meet individual needs.
• Collaborate with other teachers to integrate physical education into the curriculum and ensure a holistic educational experience.
• Maintain a safe and positive learning environment for all students.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Physical Education or a related field.
• Valid North Carolina Teaching License with Physical Education endorsement.
• Experience working with children in a K-5 setting preferred.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of educators and staff.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of current physical education standards and best practices.
• Experience with technology integration in the classroom.
• Passion for promoting lifelong physical activity and health.

Skills

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities effectively.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $40,000 - $45,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
