Teacher - Elementary

About the role

A regular 10-month contract with full benefits effective the 2026-27 school year. By Board Policy 7440, a teacher must remain in his or her school for three school years.

Responsibilities

• Teach elementary curriculum
• Develop lesson plans and assessments
• Collaborate with colleagues and support staff
• Maintain classroom management and student behavior
• Participate in professional development activities

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in education or related field
• Valid teaching license
• Pass Praxis II exam or equivalent

Qualifications

• Experience working with diverse student populations
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Skills

• Effective classroom management
• Ability to differentiate instruction
• Technology integration in teaching

• NC Teacher Salary Scale plus local Board approved supplement
• Hard to Fill (HTF) schedule available for experienced teachers

Schedule

• Base pay schedule based on years of experience
