Teacher - Elem 3rd

Starting salary is $48,700. Referendum money is available for the 2026-2027 school year only, providing an additional starting supplement of approximately $7,000; teachers hired during the school year will receive a prorated supplement based on the date of hire.

About the Role

Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals. Establishes clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects, and communicates these objectives to students. Employs a variety of instructional techniques and media, tailored to the needs and capabilities of students or student groups.

Responsibilities

• Meets and instructs assigned classes at designated locations and times.
• Plans a program of study that meets individual student needs, interests, and abilities.
• Prepares for assigned classes and provides written evidence of preparation upon request.
• Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning, appropriate to student maturity and interests.
• Supervises students to ensure safety and protect them from harmful conditions.
• Takes necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
• Assesses student accomplishments regularly and provides progress reports as required.
• Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, District policy, and administrative regulation.
• Diagnoses learning disabilities and seeks assistance from District specialists as needed.
• Assists administration in implementing policies and rules governing student life and conduct.
• Develops and maintains reasonable classroom behavior rules and procedures.
• Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.
• Makes provisions for being available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside instructional hours when required.
• Plans and supervises assignments for teacher aides or volunteers and evaluates their performance.
• Attends staff meetings and serves on staff committees as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Eligibility for Florida Department of Education Certification in the appropriate subject area.

Skills

• Strong knowledge of subject content.
• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software.
• Ability to plan and implement a program of study tailored to student needs, interests, and abilities.
• Ability to devote additional hours beyond the workday for grading, lesson planning, etc.
• Ability to manage students and multiple tasks effectively.

Pay

$48,700 starting salary, with an additional supplement of approximately $7,000 for the 2026-2027 school year (prorated for mid-year hires).
