Job Summary
Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and in harmony with the goals, establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects and the like to communicate these objectives to students.
Essential Functions
- Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at times designated.
- Plays a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media, consistent with the physical limitations of the location provided and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved.
- Strives to implement, by instruction and action, the District's philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives.
- Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, District policy, and administrative regulation.
- Diagnostics the learning disabilities of students on a regular basis, seeking the assistance of District specialists as required.
- Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Affords students the opportunity to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.
- Attends staff meetings and serves on staff committees as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- Experience: None.
- Certifications & Licenses: Must be eligible for Florida Department of Education Certification in appropriate subject area.

- Knowledge of subject content
- Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong time management skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software skills
- Ability to plan and implement a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students
- Ability to devote additional hours beyond the workday for grading papers, preparation of lesson plans, etc.
- Ability to manage students
- Ability to manage multiple tasks
Pay
Starting salary is $48,700. Additional Referendum money is available for the next four years starting at $7,730 for the 26-27 school year; teachers hired during the school year will receive a prorated supplement amount based on the date of hire.
