Teacher/Coach for After-School Class

About the role

The After School Teacher is responsible for picking up kids from school and delivering them to Creative Image Learning Center on a daily basis. The program and staff provide children with a safe and healthy learning environment while supporting their personal growth.

Responsibilities

• Ensure curriculum and developmentally appropriate practices are followed
• Execute Creative Curriculum and program activities
• Assist with homework or other educational activities
• Follow all traffic safety laws and specific requirements for each school's pickup process
• Follow LOOK AGAIN from BFTS to ensure no child is left on the bus during after-school pickups or field trips
• Be flexible, able to float throughout the day, and work with after-school kids during the evening
• Stay current with BFTS state regulations
• Follow daily lesson plans and provide guidance and homework assistance for elementary school-aged children
• Provide supplemental material where appropriate

Requirements

• One year of experience teaching or management in a licensed childcare facility
• Valid driver's license with a safe driving record
• Health and Safety Training
• Satisfactory BFTS Background Check
• Hold or be willing to attain current age-appropriate CPR/First Aid Certification
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds as needed in daily activities and emergency situations
• Willingness to interact with and oversee children at indoor and outdoor activities
• Good written and verbal communication skills
