Teacher Candidate Coach

Responsibilities

• Attend training and regular TCC team meetings
• Know University policies, procedures, and requirements to all personnel involved in the clinical experience as spelled out in the Teacher Education Handbook
• Know the standards (criteria established by the program and by PDE) to be used in assessing candidates' teaching performance
• Conduct the periodically scheduled evaluations of candidates – program midterm and final evaluations and the Pennsylvania Department of Education-430 (formative and summative)
• Observe candidates' teaching. Formal and informal data should be recorded on standard observation forms
• Provide additional support to candidates in and out of the classroom with observations, conferences, etc.
• Share data with candidates and the mentor

Requirements

• Must have availability to work in the field regularly during school hours
• Master’s degree in education-related field
• Knowledge of teaching and learning process as evidenced by educational program or experience teaching
• Demonstrated expertise in the area of education or related field
• Currently holds or has held a teaching certificate in corresponding content or area
• Three years of teaching experience (minimum) in area in which you are applying
• Highly Desired: Instructional coach certification or principal certification
• Substantial teaching experience in US classroom settings
• Terminal degree in field of education
