About the role

Teachers at Thomas Carr College are key members of the College contributing to a culture of high expectations, professional collaboration and continuous improvement. The Teacher is accountable for the effective implementation of College policies and is committed to fostering an inclusive and dynamic learning environment where every student is empowered to achieve their full potential. Central to the role is the responsibility to plan, collaborate and evaluate learning and teaching practices that promote academic growth, student engagement, wellbeing and the values of Catholic education.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement and evaluate teaching programs that meet the needs of diverse learners.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop and deliver effective learning experiences.
• Evaluate teaching practices to improve student outcomes and foster a positive learning environment.
• Support the pastoral care and wellbeing of students.
• Participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.

Requirements

• VIT registration with full working rights in Australia.
• Experience teaching across Years 7 to 12 in relevant subjects.
• Strong commitment to Catholic educational values and principles.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team and contribute to a supportive school culture.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in relevant field.
• Teaching qualification or equivalent.

Skills

• Excellent classroom management skills.
• Ability to adapt teaching methods to suit different learning styles.
• Knowledge of current educational research and best practices.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.

Pay

In accordance with the Catholic Education Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2022 (CEMEA), the salary range for all teaching staff is $79,589 – $118,063 as per the Schedule of Salary.

Schedule

The role commences at the start of 2027.
