Job Summary
The Archdiocese of St. Louis seeks an Elementary Teacher to foster a Christ-centered, academically excellent learning environment that nurtures the spiritual, intellectual, social and emotional growth of each student.
Job Responsibilities
- Faith Formation: Model and promote Catholic values in all interactions. Incorporate faith-based principles into lessons and activities. Foster an inclusive environment reflecting Catholic teachings, including reverence, respect and responsibility. Participate in liturgies, prayer services, and religious celebrations.
- Instructional Excellence: Develop lesson plans aligned with diocesan standards. Use diverse teaching strategies, including differentiated instruction. Encourage critical thinking, creativity, and a love of learning. Integrate technology to enhance learning experiences.
- Student Development: Support students’ spiritual, academic and social-emotional growth. Maintain high expectations for behavior and achievement. Assess student progress through informal and formal methods and use data to guide instruction. Maintain accurate records of student performance and communicate regularly with parents/guardians.
- Community Engagement: Build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues. Support school events, activities, and Stewardship projects. Model faith, service, and academic excellence for the school community.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field
- Valid teaching credential or certification appropriate for elementary education
- Practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church
