About This Role
First Church Early Learning Cetner in Windsor, CT is hiring a Teacher to support daily operations at an early childhood education center. This position offers $17 – $19/Hr and requires relevant professional experience.
Requirements
- Must clear full background check and must pass health screening.
- Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification. (Will provide if not already certified)
- Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional childcare experience.
- High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment.
- A strong understanding of child development.
Skills
- Knowledge of the Connecticut Preschool Assessment Framework (PAF).
- Effective classroom management skills.
- Ability to lead by example and demonstrate effective teaching methods.
- Experience in implementing emergent curriculum.
- Ability to communicate effectively with parents.
- Leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

- FCELC is NAEYC accredited and comprised of 2 full day classrooms and a half day classroom.
- The ideal candidate would have 3-5 years previous experience as a Lead Teacher working with children aged 3-5 years of age in an NAEYC accredited/OEC licensed program.
- This person would be knowledgeable in using The Connecticut Early Learning and Development Standards (ELDS) and would be required to use them as an assessment/observation tool (3x per year) for the children at First Church.
- This candidate would also be responsible for creating and implementing developmentally appropriate lesson plans that focus on the individual developmental needs of the children we serve.
- This ideal candidate would also have experience managing classroom staff (teacher/assistant teacher).
Pay
This Teacher role pays $17 to $19/Hr.
Schedule
Hours for this position may vary between 8:00 A.M. and 5:00 P.M., Monday through Friday. The necessary hours for this position would be based on the enrollment in the classroom(s) as well as the needs of the school.
Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in early childhood or a related field
- or Associate degree in Early Childhood education
