The Role

As a Teacher, you will serve as the primary instructional resource for our students, delivering competency-based content, supporting personalized learning, and guiding students toward graduation and post-secondary success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Enrollment Support: New student enrollment through recruitment and engagement efforts
  • Retention: Serve as an advisor for assigned students by maintaining communication with learners and their support team, monitoring attendance, academic progress, and overall wellness
  • Academics: Plan and deliver content-area instruction in both individual and small group settings, maintain strong ownership of student progress, analyze and use academic data to inform instruction and improve outcomes, provide remediation and enrichment opportunities to address learning gaps and accelerate success
  • Advocacy: Collaborate with the student support team to develop personalized learning pathways, transition strategies, and incentive plans, represent the academy in community events and contribute to academy-wide initiatives, collaborate with a multidisciplinary academy team including Student Advocates, Professional School Counselors, and academy leadership to provide coordinated wraparound support

What We're Looking For

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred
  • Experience: 2+ years of teaching experience (high school preferred)
  • Skills: Strong communication, time management, instructional planning, and collaboration skills
  • Passion: A deep commitment to helping at-risk youth succeed academically and personally
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in non-traditional or at-risk youth settings, bilingual (Spanish preferred), familiarity with behavior intervention strategies and alternative education models, experience with competency-based learning, instructional coaching, or project-based education, demonstrated ability to use learning management systems (LMS), student information systems (SIS), and data dashboards to monitor student progress and inform instructional decisions
