Key Responsibilities
- Teaches pre-school children in a joyful, nurturing, safe, healthy individualized environment.
- Develops and implements developmentally-appropriate lesson plans and individualized activities.
- Develops and implements Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for children with special needs.
- Engages in record keeping activities such as daily observations of children and communication with parents.
- Participates in Team meetings.
- Maintains EEC requirements including child to staff ratios, classroom supervision, etc.
- Operates the classroom/center on a day-to-day basis.
- Provides classroom coverage in the absence of the Teacher or Lead Teacher.
- Reports to the Teacher or Lead Teacher regarding daily classroom duties.
- Reports to the Program Director for all matters relating to terms of employment and center operations.
Qualifications
- Complies with all federal, state, and local laws, regulations, standards, and policies.
- Reports all suspected cases of child abuse and neglect to the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families (DCF).
Skills
- Knowledge of early childhood education practices.
- Ability to develop and implement lesson plans and IEPs.
- Proficiency in record keeping and documentation.
- Experience with classroom management and supervision.
- Strong communication skills, particularly with parents and families.
