Responsibilities
- Deliver instructional activities as assigned, following the school’s curriculum and lesson plans.
- Support students in meeting academic, behavioral, and social-emotional goals.
- Create and maintain a structured, safe, and positive classroom environment.
- Implement instructional and behavioral strategies as directed by supervising administrators or certified teachers.
- Manage daily classroom routines, including attendance, materials, and student engagement.
- Communicate regularly with administrators, staff, and families regarding student progress and needs.
- Supervise students during classroom instruction, transitions, and other assigned duties.
- Maintain accurate records of instruction, student work, and classroom incidents.
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development as required.
- Adhere to all school policies, confidentiality regulations (FERPA), and student safety standards.
- Exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality with regard to all company information.
- May participate in IEP development, but will not be the signatory or the sole classroom representative in the IEP meeting.
- Complete all required trainings as designated by the company and accreditation/licensing entities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) preferred; enrollment in a teacher certification program strongly encouraged.
- Demonstrated ability to work with children or adolescents in educational or related settings.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with administrators, teachers, and support staff.
- Commitment to pursuing Pennsylvania teacher certification (if applicable to role).
Skills
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Sound clinical judgment and excellent clinical skills.
- Ability to problem solve by gathering and analyzing information.
- Ability to handle a crisis and or potential risk situation and react appropriately.
- A working knowledge of federal and state standards as well as regulating body and compliance standards.

Schedule
This position may require local travel and will be scheduled based on operational needs. Employees are expected to provide their own transportation.
Physical Demands
The work environment includes classrooms and therapy spaces where noise levels are usually moderate but may be elevated at times. The role involves working with behaviorally challenging school-aged children and may occasionally require physical intervention. The employee is frequently required to talk or hear, regularly required to sit, stand, stoop, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb stairs, twist, kneel, or crouch. Occasional keyboarding and other skills will utilize hand, wrist, and fine motor coordination. The employee must occasionally lift and/ or move up to 30 pounds. The employee must seldom lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
The role involves working with behaviorally challenging school-aged children and may occasionally require physical intervention. This position may require local travel and will be scheduled based on operational needs. Employees are expected to provide their own transportation. Incumbents may be exposed to viruses, disease, or infection, as well as potentially traumatic situations (e.g., psychiatric crises).
