About the role

Under the supervision of the principal or other supervisor, the teacher assistant assists the teacher with the conduct of a class. This is a math tutor position using the Bridges Intervention Program working with small groups of students in kindergarten through 6th grade. Hours will be worked Monday through Thursday.

This classified position is 4.0 hours per day / 174 days per year at Salary Grade 3, $17.24 per hour (2026-27 Support Salary Table). Promotions result in a minimum 5% increase.

Responsibilities

• Prepare class materials
• Correct and record assignments
• Provide a wide variety of other services to support classroom instruction

Requirements

• High school graduation or equivalent education and/or experience
• The equivalent of two years (48 semester hours) full-time education at an institution of higher education; or an associate's degree; or the ability to pass a Utah State Office of Education approved Para-Professional Test
• Interpersonal and communication skills
• Secretarial/clerical skills, including ability to operate a computer (may be required)
