Teacher Assistant-Math Tutor

Location: Oak Hills Elementary. 4.9 hours per day, 174 days per year. Salary: $17.24 per hour (2026-27 Support Salary Table, Grade 3). Promotions result in a minimum 5% increase.

About the Role

This is a math tutor position working with grades K–6. Under the supervision of the principal or other supervisor, the teacher assistant supports the teacher in conducting the class through a variety of tasks.

Responsibilities

• Prepare class materials
• Correct and record assignments
• Provide a wide variety of other support services

Requirements

• High school graduation or equivalent education and/or experience
• One of the following:
  • The equivalent of two years (48 semester hours) full-time education at an institution of higher education
  • An associate’s degree
  • Ability to pass a Utah State Office of Education approved Para-Professional Test
• Interpersonal and communication skills
• Secretarial/clerical skills, including ability to operate a computer (may be required)
