Position Goal

To assist the Early Childhood Teacher with day-to-day activities.

Essential Performance Responsibilities

  • Assist with classroom management and organization.
  • Support teachers in implementing curriculum and lesson plans.
  • Provide individualized attention to students as needed.
  • Help manage student behavior and discipline.
  • Participate in team meetings and professional development.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

  • Standard high school diploma or GED and CDA credential, or equivalent certification.
  • An earned associate’s degree or higher.
  • Additional continuing education as required by program funding source.
  • Computer skills as required for the position.

Prior to Employment

  • Must hold and maintain a valid State of Florida Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, or equivalent certification.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Significant experience working with young children.
  • Experience with early childhood education programs.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and move children.
  • Standing and walking for extended periods.
  • Use of hands and fingers for fine motor tasks.
