About the role
The Head Start program at Trafford seeks a Full-time Teacher Assistant to support the teaching staff in creating a safe and nurturing learning environment for children aged 3-5.
Responsibilities
- Supervise children in all program-related activities
- Assist children with self-help skills and/or toileting
- Organize and sustain the positive functioning of children in a group
- Build the positive self-concept and individual strengths in each child
Requirements
- A High School Diploma or equivalency
- Previous experience with children and families preferred
- Familiarity with the Head Start program preferred
- Ability to provide or successfully obtain child abuse, state police, fingerprint-based criminal background, and sex offender registry clearances
- Initial health examination and TB test required
