About the role

Riviera Schools is seeking a teacher assistant for the 25-26 school year. The ideal candidate will have a professional image, strong written and verbal communication skills, and a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Responsibilities

  • Support teachers in the classroom by assisting with daily activities
  • Help maintain a safe and positive learning environment
  • Assist with the supervision of students during breaks and transitions
  • Participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience working with children and/or youth
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Pass a satisfactory Criminal Background Check or equivalent covering the previous 10 years’ employment history

Qualifications

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Positive attitude and ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Skills

  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work with diverse groups of students
  • Knowledge of child development and educational practices
