About the role
The Private Special Education school is seeking a highly motivated Teacher Assistant to join their team. The position involves working with severely BD students under the guidance of a multi-disciplinary team.
Responsibilities
- Supporting students in academic, social, and behavioral areas
- Assisting with daily routines and activities
- Participating in team meetings to discuss student progress
- Providing individualized attention and support to students
Requirements
- Paraprofessional Approved Certification or be qualified to obtain it
- Mature and at least 21 years of age
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- A valid driver's license
Qualifications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Pass background checks by facility or licensing agencies
Skills
- Knowledge of special education principles and practices
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
- Patience and empathy towards students with severe behavioral disorders
