Minimum Qualifications
- New York State Teaching Assistant Certification
Responsibilities
- Provide instructional services to students under the general supervision of a licensed or certified teacher
- Supervise students individually, in groups, or in classrooms
- Assist pupils in the use of available instructional resources and in the development of instructional materials
- Assist students with computers and other technological devices
- Communicate effectively with students, teachers, parents, administration, and CSE chairperson
- Handle routine non-teaching and clerical tasks to support instructional services
- Provide personal attention to students, including tutoring
- Correct and grade tests
- Maintain files and records
- Assist with developing instructional materials
- May be assigned as a classroom assistant, 1:1 Teaching Assistant, or Teaching Assistant for structured studies
Schedule
6.5 hours per day; 180-day school year, including Superintendent Conference Days and staff meetings
Pay
$17.25 per hour
