About the Role

This position ensures that all students learn the basic and essential skills at each grade level. It involves planning and implementing a program of instruction, creating a conducive learning environment, and managing classroom behavior.

Essential Functions

• Plans and implements a program of instruction adhering to district goals and objectives.
• Makes purposeful and appropriate lesson plans.
• Plays a role in curriculum development and assists in the selection of instructional materials.
• Develops classroom rules and discipline techniques.
• Serves as a resource for paraprofessionals, tutors, and volunteers.
• Evaluates student performance and adjusts instructional programs accordingly.
• Communicates effectively with parents and the community.
• Continuously improves professional skills through workshops, seminars, and coursework.
• Works cooperatively with other staff members.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Certified, Qualified, and Highly Qualified status as defined by the Course Code(s) assigned.

Skills

• Effective oral and written communication.
• Ability to work cooperatively with parents, school districts, and agencies.
• Knowledge of child development.
• Ability to administer testing instruments.
