About the role
Devereux - Massachusetts serves students with various complex psychological, emotional, and behavioral disorders, including but not limited to Autism Spectrum Disorder. Based in Rutland, MA, the Devereux Day School serves individuals age 6 through 21 who present with issues such as disruptive behaviors, mood/anxiety disorders, complex trauma, or abuse-reactive behaviors. You will support students in grades K-12 and beyond as they work towards diplomas and learn vocational, transitional, and social-emotional skills. Our students have typically experienced multiple academic failures, most often resulting from a wide variety of social, emotional, and behavioral challenges.
Responsibilities
- Be passionate about working with and helping youth.
- Ensure the safety and security of all youth as assigned by providing direct supervision.
- Provide and ensure therapeutic interventions in a compassionate and safe environment.
- Engage with youth in a meaningful and positive manner, teaching and prompting appropriate behaviors, and providing positive reinforcement.
- Teach and assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADL) skills.
- Complete required documentation, such as progress notes and incident reports, using adequate organizational and communication skills.
Qualifications
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Valid driver's license required.
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
- Previous experience working with individuals under 21 with psychological, emotional, and behavioral disorders, and/or autism spectrum disorders preferred.
- Must be able to attend a 2-week paid orientation, Monday to Friday, 8AM to 4PM, in Rutland, MA.

Pay
Starts at $21.12/hour, with additional compensation up to $24.58/hour for higher education and/or years of relevant experience.
Schedule
Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM.
