Responsibilities
- Provide personal care to students, including toileting.
- Assist with lifting students as needed.
- Work in life skills classrooms, job coaching, or with special needs students.
- Serve as a teacher aide for self-contained or resource students.
- Supervise students in hallways, cafeterias, and other school areas.
- Assist in an office setting or the Attendance/Health Office.
- Provide support in other areas as necessary.
- Work one-on-one with students.
- Perform computer/data entry tasks.

Qualifications
- Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma; OR
- Four (4) years of experience and knowledge in a particular field where specialized duties are involved; OR
- An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the above criteria.
Verifiable part-time and/or volunteer experience will be pro-rated toward meeting full-time experience requirements.

- Ability to maintain order in classrooms and enforce school regulations with firmness.
- Familiarity with classroom routine.
- Good background or knowledge in a specific field where specialized duties are involved.
- Resourcefulness in conducting activities indirectly related to the teaching process.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Dependability, neat personal appearance, tact, courtesy, and good judgment.
- Physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.
Pay
Starting pay rate: $18.90/hour.
Hourly stipends apply as follows:
- Split aide (assigned to both general education & PPS aide duties); UPK aide; Literacy aide; Primary Project aide; Health aide; Attendance aide: +$0.50/hour
- PPS aide; job coach aide: +$1.50/hour
Schedule
10 months per school year, following the district’s academic calendar.
