Responsibilities
- Provide direct supervision to students in a safe, positive environment employing behavior management strategies as prescribed by the Therapeutic Crisis Intervention curriculum, individual plans, and Agency policies and procedures;
- Implement incentive systems as designed by the classroom and program;
- Participate in staff meetings, supervisory meetings and attend trainings and in-service opportunities within the Agency and the community;
- Assist the Teacher in the preparation and implementation of planning documents and the evaluation of student progress in academic and behavioral areas;
- Provide students with direct assistance in achieving success throughout the teaching/learning process and meeting individual academic and behavioral goals;
- If certified as a Teaching Assistant, the Teacher Aide may perform teaching duties, as needed;
- Work collaboratively and cooperatively with various intra and interdepartmental personnel, families, and community agency representatives to achieve common goals;
- Complete required reports and documentation on time.
Requirements
- High School diploma / GED required;
- Associates degree preferred;
- Certification as a Teaching Assistant preferred;
- 1 year of related experience required.
