TDCJ - Maintenance Supervisor IV - Heating, Ventil

About the role

In this role, you'll supervise HVAC, refrigeration, and general maintenance projects across state facilities. You'll plan, assign, inspect, and prioritize preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance work to keep building systems running efficiently. You'll prepare project estimates, order materials and supplies, and maintain detailed repair records. You'll coordinate projects with other supervisors to ensure work is completed safely and efficiently, and you'll train and supervise maintenance workers while ensuring all tasks meet required safety regulations and standards.

Responsibilities

• Supervise HVAC, refrigeration, and general maintenance projects across state facilities
• Plan, assign, inspect, and prioritize preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance work
• Prepare project estimates, order materials and supplies, and maintain detailed repair records
• Coordinate projects with other supervisors to ensure work is completed safely and efficiently
• Train and supervise maintenance workers while ensuring all tasks meet required safety regulations and standards

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining or repairing HVAC and refrigeration systems and equipment
• Current EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification
• Understanding of HVAC systems, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting techniques
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to plan projects, maintain accurate records, and work collaboratively with multiple teams

Preferred qualifications

• Associate degree or technical training in HVAC or Refrigeration
• Ability to estimate labor, materials, and project costs
• Experience mentoring others while providing technical expertise on complex HVAC systems
