About the role

Participates in the planning and execution of private facilities contracts and contract monitoring programs, rehabilitation programs, and reentry services; coordinates work with agency departments; assists in the development of administrative and technical assistance policies and procedures; and reviews and seeks solutions to problems.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and disseminates information concerning agency programs and operations; prepares, edits, and distributes correspondence, reports, studies, forms, and other documents; and responds to inquiries regarding rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Compiles and enters data, makes calculations, and prepares administrative and statistical reports; research, composes, designs, and edits agency forms, manuals, and reports; and maintains filing, record keeping, and records management systems to include automated information systems.
  • Assists in the preparation of presentations for administrative and executive meetings; schedules and coordinates appointments, interviews, and conferences; and provides liaison with other agencies and organizations.
  • Performs a variety of marginal duties not listed, to be determined and assigned as needed.

Requirements

  • Graduated from an accredited senior high school or equivalent or GED.
  • One year full-time, wage-earning customer service, clerical, secretarial, administrative support, or technical program support experience.
  • One year full-time, wage-earning experience in the use of Microsoft Office Suite or equivalent to include word processing, spreadsheet, database, or presentation software programs.

Qualifications

  • Experience working in an office environment.
  • Knowledge of TDCJ policies and procedures.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Skilled with problem-solving techniques.
  • Skill to interpret and apply rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Experience with computer operations.
  • Experience with record keeping.
  • Experience with the Microsoft Office suite of programs.
  • Strong typing skills.
