TCEQ - Program Management Specialist- I (TCEQ Air Quality Employees Only)

About the role

Join TCEQ's Office of Air and contribute to protecting and restoring Texas' air quality as a member of the Air Quality Division.

Responsibilities

• Supervises team functions, including interviewing, hiring, and developing staff, performance management, and workflow control.
• Directs quality assurance reviews of stationary source data, including air emissions and air fee data.
• Directs reporting of state emissions inventory (EI) and air fees data, and the development of approved data collection methodologies.
• Oversees related program area enforcement activities.
• Leads development of emissions inventory data for use in state implementation planning and other air quality planning activities.
• Develops and presents EI data and other air emissions-related information to the regulated community, agency staff, and the general public.
• Oversees development of EI data products and program outreach activities and guidance documents.
• Participates in planning, developing, and monitoring section goals, objectives, budget, and expenditures.
• Oversees professional development and staff-team development activities.

Requirements

• Experience supervising a unit (Work Leader) or team (Team Leader or above).
• Experience assessing emission inventory data, air fees data, or other air emission-related data.
• Experience working with state implementation plans or air regulations.

Qualifications

Required education and experience:

• Experience in the administration of a program relevant to assignment.
• OR graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in a field relevant to assignment.

A copy of your official college transcript or evaluation of foreign credentials in CAPPS is required if needed to meet the qualifications listed above.

Employees in this classification may research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure, including but not limited to communication infrastructure systems, cybersecurity systems, electric grids, hazardous waste treatment systems, or water treatment facilities. The ability to maintain the security or integrity of the infrastructure is required to be hired and continue employment with TCEQ.

Schedule

Standard business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Individual and work group schedules are determined by the TCEQ Air Quality Division.
