TCEQ - Natural Resources Specialist II
What You'll Be Doing
Aid small businesses and small local governments in understanding and complying with environmental rules.
Contribute to special project teams creating plain-language regulatory guidance documents and tools to assist in compliance.
Collaborate with agency program staff and stakeholders to ensure work products align with agency priorities.
Support outreach efforts on environmental compliance requirements, including preparing materials, planning events, and delivering presentations.
Analyze rules, regulations, and agency guidance to assess impacts on small businesses and local governments, and provide recommendations for improvement.
Required Education & Experience
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, majoring in a natural or physical science, engineering, environmental studies, or a related field.
- One year of full-time experience in environmental activities may be substituted for each year (30 semester hours) of the required education.
Security Requirements
The ability to maintain the security or integrity of critical infrastructure is a requirement to be hired for and to continue to be employed with TCEQ.

Work Schedule
Standard business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
This position requires 30% travel and is full-time in-office scheduled at the Region 12 Houston office.
Condition of Employment
TCEQ will conduct a criminal history records search and driving history check on candidates offered employment.
