Natural Resource Technician II

Job Responsibilities

• Affixing to daily upland habitat management activities.
• Affixing to daily wetland habitat management activities.
• Maintaining grounds and common areas.
• Maintaining buildings, sheds, houses and other facilities on Yawkey Wildlife Center (YWC).
• Removing invasive and exotic species, conducting wildlife surveys, and wildlife monitoring programs.
• Operating bridges and pontoon boats.

Minimum And Additional Requirements

• A high school diploma and two (2) years of experience in wildlife or fisheries work or an associate degree in the technical sciences.
• Preferred qualifications include obtaining US Coast Guard Captains license and certified prescribed fire manager.
• Ability to operate farm equipment such as tractors and implements along with heavy equipment.
• Ability to operate woodworking, chainsaws and other small hand tools.
• Welding, boat and motor operation, agricultural and carpentry experience are valuable.
• Trapping, prescribed fire and outdoor skills are beneficial.
• Ability to collect data accurately and efficiently, lift heavy objects and work in all environments.
• Ability to maintain a positive attitude and work with a diverse work force.
