About the role
The TBI SME Behavioral Health (CPCR) position at HJF provides scientific, technical, and programmatic leadership services to the identified program. The incumbent must have specialty training in TBI-related fields such as cognitive behavioral science, cognitive neuroscience, neurology, clinical neuropsychology, clinical psychology, etc.
Responsibilities
- Designs, directs, and participates in clinical research protocols in conjunction with research physicians and scientists.
- Directs and participates in the submission of clinical research protocols to the Institutional Review Board (IRB) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
- Provides evaluation and treatment of medical conditions, as appropriate to medical license and specialty board certification.
- Works to secure funding via grants or through other external programmatic stakeholders.
- Makes sure the quality and appropriateness of the clinical research program are monitored and evaluated. Analyzes clinical data.
- Prepares program status reports to the institution, regulatory agencies, and sponsors of the clinical research programs scientific papers for presentation at local and national meetings and for publication in medical and scientific periodicals.
- If applicable: May include budgetary responsibility to include plan/forecast, prepare, approve, monitor.
- May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor.
Qualifications
- Professional degree [MD, DO, PhD, MD/PhD, OD or relevant terminal doctorate degree] with specialty training in TBI-related field (e.g., cognitive behavioral science, cognitive neuroscience, neurology, clinical neuropsychology, clinical psychology, etc.).
- Minimum 5-10 years of experience in healthcare and/or healthcare research required.
- Experience with TBI, prior experience with DoD/VA systems strongly preferred.
Skills and Abilities
- SMEs are professional personnel who have published in peer review publications and/or presentations at professional meetings.
- Excellent oral and written communications required.
- Must adhere to legal, professional and ethical codes with respect to confidentiality and privacy.
- Knowledge of TBI and statistics, required.
- Knowledge of DoD and VA health care systems strongly preferred.
- Strong collaborative and organizational skills.
- Thorough knowledge of clinical medicine and the procedures and techniques necessary for performing research tasks.
Requirements
- US Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a T3/Secret Clearance, including background check and drug screening.
- Licensure to practice medicine within the continental United States; Board certified or board eligible for certification in the specialty associated with the clinical research program.
Physical Capabilities
- Lifting: Requires lifting materials up to 25 lbs.
- Ability to stand or sit at a computer for prolonged periods.

Pay
The annual salary range for this position is $173,600-$322,400. Actual salary will be determined based on experience, education, etc.
