This is a grant-funded, full-time position with an hourly wage of $19.14–$21.54. The role will end when the grant project concludes in 2028.
Responsibilities
- Process and record grant-related vendor invoices; verify accuracy and schedule timely payments to maintain vendor relationships.
- Ensure compliance with grant funding rules and reporting requirements.
- Order supplies and equipment for the grant project; prepare purchase orders, budget reports, and data-driven documents.
- Perform journal entry preparation, budgeting, and accounts payable tasks.
- Track inventory and prepare contracts following Yakama Nation policies and procedures.
- Assist with the program calendar, arrange and schedule meetings, prepare materials, attend meetings as requested, and take/distribute minutes.
- Keep the Library Administrator informed of items requiring immediate review or action.
- Conduct research, collect data, and prepare briefs for consideration and presentation.
- Develop and maintain efficient documentation, filing systems, and CUFF accounts.
- Obtain signatures for routine documents; review and log incoming documents for accuracy and compliance with established protocols.
- Complete assigned duties accurately and neatly in conformance with all policies and procedures.
- May be assigned additional duties to meet grant priorities, organizational goals, and best practices.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Two years of experience as a bookkeeper or equivalent qualifying experience.
- Must present a highly professional image and provide outstanding customer service to internal and external clients.
- Required to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.
- Must possess a valid Washington State Driver’s License and ability to obtain a Tribal Driver Permit with a Defensive Driving Course certificate (updated every 2 years).
Skills
- Proficiency in Adobe, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access), and YN D365 Financial Accounting System.
- Ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision and sound judgment.
- High degree of personal integrity, professionalism, and strict confidentiality.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, supervisors, managers, and elected officials.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing assignments, priorities, and frequent interruptions.
- Ability to understand and apply guidelines to varied operational requirements and follow oral/written instructions.
- Proficient typing skills and professional telephone etiquette.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask, pay attention to detail, and maintain punctuality and attendance.
- Ability to work under stressful conditions while demonstrating good morals and habits.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in grant compliance, reporting, or administration is highly desirable.
- Enrolled Yakama preference, though all qualified applicants are encouraged to apply.
Pay
Hourly wage: $19.14–$21.54.
Schedule
Full-time, regular position.
